Cloud Network Engineer - Remote Opportunities Available

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Cloud Network Engineer to join our dynamic team at Telesat. This Cloud Network Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure and network solutions. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gaps between on-premises networks and cloud-based networks, ensuring seamless integration and operation of our innovative cloud services.

What You'll Do

• Support network requirements for all cloud operations across Telesat, including connectivity and integration with various Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) vendors such as Gitlab, Jira, and Salesforce.
• Evaluate cloud applications, designs, and best practices, recommending and implementing Azure networking solutions.
• Deploy networking solutions using Azure Portal, PowerShell, Terraform, and Azure CLI.
• Collaborate with solutions architects, application developers, and cybersecurity teams to deliver robust Azure solutions.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security, auditing existing network designs for improvements.
• Manage and apply security best practices to the cloud environment, ensuring compliance and reliability.
• Develop metrics and monitoring tools to assist with SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and operations functions.
• Communicate network maintenance and operational status to users and management as per established procedures.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Azure administration and hybrid connections, with a strong focus on network security.
• At least 5 years of experience in enterprise networking and data center environments.
• 3 years of relevant experience in deploying, managing, and automating cloud-based networking solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes network environments is required.
• Familiarity with AWS and GCP cloud environments is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash and Python for infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of network appliances including Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
• Understanding of SRE concepts and practices.
