Business Analyst - Process Optimization (Remote)
About the Role
We're hiring a Business Analyst - Process Optimization (Remote) to join our dynamic team at 800 Storage. This role is crucial as you will be embedded in day-to-day operations across various departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Movers. Your primary responsibility will be to map how work flows through these teams, identify bottlenecks, and leverage data to enhance operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Process Optimization: Map and audit operational workflows across Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Movers. Identify bottlenecks, redundancies, and failure points, then design and implement streamlined processes.
- Data Collection & Analysis: Build dashboards and reports that track key operational metrics — conversion rates, occupancy by facility and CBM, collections performance, and service delivery times. Use these to surface actionable insights, not just charts.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with department heads (Sales, Ops, Warehouse, Movers, Accounting) to define requirements, translate operational needs into system specifications, and ensure solutions actually get adopted.
- Automation & Tooling: Design and document automation workflows using flowcharts, sequence diagrams, n8n, or similar tools. Collaborate with the AI team to integrate automation into existing processes and reduce manual work.
- Performance Measurement: Set up measurement frameworks so every process change is tracked against clear KPIs. Report findings to leadership in concise, decision-ready formats.
- Documentation: Create and maintain living documentation of business processes, system requirements, and SOPs that teams actually reference and use.
Requirements
- 2+ years in business analysis, operations analytics, or process improvement — ideally in logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or a similarly operationally complex environment.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (n8n, Zapier, Make, or equivalent).
- Strong process-mapping and documentation skills. You should be able to take a messy, undocumented workflow and turn it into a clear diagram with decision points and handoffs.
- Excellent communication skills in English. You will present findings to leadership and work across multiple departments with varying levels of technical fluency.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in the storage, logistics, or real estate industry.
- Exposure to CRM systems, Jira, or ERP platforms.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and how they apply to process automation.
What You'll Get
- A role with real ownership and direct impact on how the company operates — not just advisory work.
- Clear performance-based growth. Compensation and scope expand with measurable results.
- Hands-on exposure to AI-driven automation in a company that is actively building it, not just talking about it.
- A fast-paced, founder-accessible environment where good ideas ship quickly.
- Fully remote position with flexible working arrangements.
This Business Analyst role at 800 Storage offers a unique opportunity to drive process optimization in a fully remote setting. You'll work directly with various departments and have a significant impact on operations.
