Backend Tech Lead - Remote Contract Position

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Tech Lead (Remote) to join our team at Infuse. In this role, you will define architecture and standards, deliver features end-to-end, and consistently raise the bar for reliability, security, and delivery speed. This is a unique opportunity to lead a talented team while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Own architecture decisions and maintain a pragmatic approach: “simple first, scalable where it matters.”
• Drive code quality through reviews, standards, and branching/release hygiene.
• Mentor engineers and cultivate a strong engineering culture focused on clarity and ownership.
• Implement CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions or Jenkins, and deploy via Helm to AWS (EKS or ECS).
• Enhance observability by monitoring latency/error budgets via CloudWatch + Grafana.
• Optimize performance through database indexing, caching strategies, and API response times.
• Ensure security by implementing lightweight bot protection and adhering to OWASP standards.
• Document processes clearly and keep stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building production systems with .NET, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
• 2+ years in a lead or ownership role with real experience running production systems.
• Deep understanding of RBAC, session/auth flows, and security fundamentals.
• Familiarity with async/event-driven patterns, including queues and schedulers.
• Upper-intermediate level of English is required; fluency in Ukrainian and/or Russian is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Background in RPA, UiPath, or similar automation-heavy environments.
• Experience with AI/ML/LLM-enabled products and data extraction.
• Python backend experience with frameworks like FastAPI or Flask.
