Backend Engineer - Xbox Advertising (Remote)

About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer to join our Xbox Advertising team. This Backend Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to build high-scale backend systems for advertising using the latest technologies. If you are an excellent communicator who enjoys collaborating with various business units and translating business needs into technical requirements, this role is for you!

What You'll Do

• Design and develop a highly scalable, available, and reliable Publisher Ads & Monetization platform that handles billions of requests per day.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineers to craft and architect backend systems.
• Work with product and peer engineering teams on multi-functional projects.
• Ensure operational excellence by collaborating with DevOps engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, plus at least one year of relevant professional experience (total of five years of combined education and experience).
• Demonstrated ability leading the development of high-performing services in Java.
• Experience with AdTech platforms, such as ad serving and demand-side platforms, is preferred.
• Expert knowledge in Java, JMeter, and performance engineering.
• Experience in designing the overall architecture of end-to-end solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a cloud-based environment with Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
• Knowledge and experience in CI/CD, test automation, Jenkins, Gradle, and related technologies.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
