About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager - Tax (Remote) to lead and manage our group tax function across multiple jurisdictions. This role reports directly to the Managing Director – Finance and is pivotal in providing strategic tax advice to management on business decisions, optimizing tax-efficient structures, and ensuring compliance with both domestic and international tax laws.

What You'll Do

  • Lead a small group tax team overseeing all tax matters of Link group in multiple jurisdictions including Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Singapore, and Australia.
  • Manage tax compliance, transfer pricing documentation, BEPS 2.0 Pillar Two reports, and FATCA/CRS reporting.
  • Collaborate with local finance teams on interim and year-end tax provision reviews.
  • Handle tax audits and inquiries from various jurisdictions to minimize exposure.
  • Manage applications for double tax treaty relief and advise on tax-efficient fund flow and cash repatriation.
  • Provide tax advice and support for M&A transactions, including structuring and tax due diligence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external tax advisors, tax authorities, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Accounting and tax professional qualification (CPA, CTA, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting, finance, business, or law.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience from multinational corporations or Big 4 professional firms.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple M&A transactions across different jurisdictions.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex tax matters succinctly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in real estate/private equity funds with exposure to tax regimes in Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland, Australia, Singapore, and Japan is advantageous.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with international tax planning and compliance.
  • Knowledge of tax technology tools and software.
  • Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese.
