  • Track projects from specification through completion to ensure successful conversion to sales.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate product systems and solutions.
  • Conduct product presentations, job-site visits, and lunch-and-learns to influence specification and purchasing decisions.
  • Collaborate with store, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Use digital sales tools (CRM, Outlook, Teams, ERP systems) daily to manage pipeline and customer activity.
  • Negotiate pricing within company guidelines while maintaining strategic margins.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and account updates.
  • Stay informed on local construction activity, industry trends, and competitive products.
  • Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

Requirements

  • Proven hunter with 3–5+ years of outside B2B sales experience (architectural coatings, building materials, construction products, or related industry preferred).
  • Experience calling on architects, designers, contractors, or commercial accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a territory-based role.
  • Disciplined CRM user with strong pipeline management skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple active projects.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Technical knowledge of paint systems, substrates, and application methods is a strong plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the construction or coatings industry.
  • Familiarity with digital sales tools and CRM systems.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops.

What We Offer

  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with match.

  • Established regional brand with strong reputation.
  • Autonomy to grow and develop your territory.
  • Ongoing product and industry training.

This Role Is NOT for You If…

  • You wait to be told what to do.
  • You rely solely on inbound leads and avoid proactive outreach.
  • You struggle to manage a sales pipeline consistently.
  • You prefer a passive account maintenance role instead of driving growth.
  • You are uncomfortable calling on architects or influencing specifications.
