Applications Developer - Remote Opportunity at UC Davis Health Informatics

About the Role

We are seeking an Applications Developer to join our team at UC Davis Health Informatics. This remote Applications Developer position focuses on web application development, maintenance, and support. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and secure web applications and web services that are critical to the operations of Student Housing and Dining Services.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain web applications using modern front-end frameworks such as ASP.NET C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, and MS SQL Server.
• Implement API-first design and automate the software delivery pipeline to ensure efficient deployment.
• Integrate applications with campus, departmental, and third-party systems, ensuring interoperability with Microsoft products.
• Write organized, consistent, and easily understood code, including testing, certifying, maintaining, and documenting all developed programs and scripts.
• Utilize Git/Azure DevOps for version control and collaboration on projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience with CSS, JavaScript, HTML, and developing software applications using ASP.NET, VB.NET, and/or C#.
• Experience in database development using MS SQL Server, including writing and implementing SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks such as Knockout and AngularJS.
• Familiarity with creating web-based reports using Crystal Reports XI and SQL Reporting Services.
• Knowledge of popular server-side .NET libraries and practices such as Entity Framework and NUnit.
