Analytics Scientist (Compliance) - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking an Analytics Scientist (Compliance) remote to join our diverse team at Bitso. In this role, you will leverage your data analytics skills to support compliance efforts across our organization. Your insights will help us drive revolutionary changes in the cryptocurrency sector, ensuring that we meet regulatory requirements while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

What You'll Do

• Handle data extraction and analysis for Law Enforcement Requests (LER), Regulatory Reports, and Audits.
• Design, develop, and maintain systems to detect and report suspicious activity.
• Translate complex regulatory requirements into technical data specifications and actionable tools.
• Build and maintain semantic/data models to power consistent reporting and define complex KPIs.
• Develop and iterate on interactive dashboards that highlight performance and establish monitoring views/alerts to detect anomalies in key metrics.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data analytics roles, particularly in a compliance context.
• Advanced SQL proficiency to extract, validate, and shape data for analysis and reporting.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) for building decision-oriented dashboards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in compliance-specific roles.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
