AI & Optimization Lead - Bitcoin Mining Operations (Remote)

About the Role

Join Tether as an AI & Optimization Lead for Bitcoin Mining Operations and shape the future of digital finance. This remote position offers you the chance to work with cutting-edge technology in the crypto industry. You will play a crucial role in defining and executing the AI vision for our Mining Operating System (MOS) and Mining Development Kit (MDK), which are the core platforms powering Tether’s Bitcoin-mining operations worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Define and lead the AI strategy for MOS & MDK, focusing on operational efficiency and measurable business outcomes.
• Translate operational challenges into data and optimization problems that AI models can solve.
• Design a standardized data baseline/schema for all mining-site telemetry and events.
• Build and deploy ML/AI and optimization models, including performance optimization and predictive maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed AI models into platform workflows and APIs.
• Promote a data-driven, efficiency-first culture within the Mining Software team.
• Stay updated on AI, optimization, and industrial analytics trends.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or similar.
• 3+ years’ experience in AI/ML, data science, or applied optimization roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js ecosystem).
• Experience developing and deploying time-series, anomaly detection, classification, and predictive models.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to collaborate in distributed teams.

Nice to Have

• Prior exposure to Bitcoin mining or industrial/IoT environments.
• Familiarity with containerized workloads (Docker).
• Solid understanding of signal processing and feature extraction for sensor data.
