About the Role

The Alliance for Justice (AFJ) is seeking a 2026 Summer Associate - Justice (Remote) to join our dedicated team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for current law students to engage in meaningful work focused on federal courts, building the bench, or state court justice projects. As a Summer Associate, you will conduct legal research and analysis on judicial nominees, write reports, and monitor state and federal judicial nominations. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world while contributing to important advocacy and public interest law issues.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on judicial nominees.
  • Write reports and monitor state and federal judicial nominations.
  • Engage in advocacy and public interest law issues.
  • Participate in professional development activities and networking opportunities.
  • Contribute to coalition meetings and take notes.
  • Draft press releases and blog posts.
  • Support meetings with legislative offices.
  • Attend confirmation hearings and contribute to discussions.

Requirements

  • Current law student with excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze legal concepts and public policy.
  • Experience breaking down complex topics for non-expert audiences.
  • Interest in federal appellate law and the federal judiciary.
  • Familiarity with state supreme court selection is a plus.
  • Experience in advocacy or political work.
  • Commitment to social justice and civil rights.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week.
