Workflow Automation Engineer - AI-Driven Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a Workflow Automation Engineer remote to join our innovative team at n8n. In this role, you will enable internal teams to design, build, and scale AI-powered automations that reduce manual work, surface the right data at the right time, and unlock new LLM-driven capabilities. As a Workflow Automation Engineer remote, you will be at the forefront of transforming how we operate and scale across various departments.

What You'll Do

• Partner with Support, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and People teams to uncover high-impact automation opportunities.
• Translate business goals into clear technical specifications with success metrics, prioritizing pragmatically to deliver value quickly.
• Design, implement, and maintain n8n workflows that integrate APIs, data stores, and LLM capabilities.
• Utilize functions, expressions, and custom JavaScript to maintain clean and testable logic.
• Instrument workflows for observability, error handling, retries, auditability, and versioning.
• Apply RAG, structured output parsing, and tool-use patterns to enhance reliability and enforce data governance.
• Document processes clearly, provide training, and iterate based on feedback and telemetry.
• Share patterns, templates, and best practices for using n8n across teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in automation, internal tools, BizOps/RevOps, or solutions engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with n8n, including production workflows using APIs, webhooks, and error handling.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and expressions for Function nodes.
• Experience with modern LLMs for automation, including prompt design and structured outputs.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and data integration.
• Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Shopify, and Google Workspace.
• Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience building HR, Support, or RevOps automations.
• Familiarity with SQL for validation and reporting.
• Engagement with the n8n or adjacent automation ecosystems.
