Water Resource Specialist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Water Resource Specialist to join our team at Vitens. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while playing a crucial part in the protection of our drinking water sources. Every day, we deliver 1 billion liters of top-quality drinking water, and your expertise will help ensure that every drop counts!

What You'll Do

• Advise on (nature) policies and legislation related to water extraction areas.
• Translate strategic policies into tactical guidelines for operational execution.
• Participate in tenders as an expert from the water extraction cluster.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines in collaboration with contractors.
• Manage contracts with third parties, including hunting and leasing agreements.
• Utilize digital management systems to document maintenance and management activities.
• Work closely with a team of six field managers and three nature managers to maintain over 400 locations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Forest and Nature Management or a related field.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
• Experience with digital management programs (e.g., GeoVisia).
• Strong understanding of flora and fauna.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuous personal and professional development.

Nice to Have

• Experience in contract management.
• Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices.
• Proficiency in additional digital tools for water management.
