Vice President of Legal - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Vice President of Legal to join our innovative and mission-driven organization. This Vice President of Legal remote position offers the opportunity to lead the legal function in a growing company while working with a talented team of founders. You will play a crucial role in shaping the company's legal strategy and ensuring compliance across various sectors.

What You'll Do

• Lead the legal department, overseeing all legal matters for the organization.
• Provide legal guidance on commercial contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in contract negotiation and ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and mitigate legal risks.
• Participate in the development and implementation of legal strategies that align with company goals.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure effective legal operations.
• Drive process improvement initiatives within the legal function to enhance efficiency.
• Contribute to the company's culture of innovation and responsibility.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in legal roles, with a focus on corporate law and compliance.
• Proven track record in leading legal teams and managing complex legal issues.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and consumer products law.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in SaaS contracts and venture capital is a plus.

• Experience in biotech or e-commerce sectors.
• Familiarity with legal technology and knowledge management systems.
• Previous in-house counsel experience.
