Technical Producer - Remote for Devcon 8

About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Producer to join the Ethereum Foundation's team for Devcon 8, the premier event in the Ethereum community. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the technical production of a large-scale conference, ensuring a seamless experience for over 10,000 attendees.

What You'll Do

• Develop comprehensive technical production plans and runbooks for all stages of the event.
• Define technical specifications and requirements for AV equipment, streaming infrastructure, and recording systems.
• Evaluate and select AV vendors; negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
• Oversee multi-stream production across all stages, managing streaming platform integration and ensuring reliable delivery to global audiences.
• Lead technical crew and coordinate with AV vendor teams during the event, managing real-time troubleshooting and technical problem resolution.
• Conduct daily technical briefings and coordinate with stage managers to ensure smooth transitions and technical support.
• Oversee video post-production and content delivery to archive platforms.
• Document lessons learned and technical improvements for future events.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technical production for large-scale conferences (5,000+ attendees).
• Proven track record managing multi-stage, multi-day events with concurrent livestreams.
• Deep expertise in broadcast-quality video production and live streaming workflows.
• Strong understanding of streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, HLS) and encoding standards.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with diverse stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Ethereum or blockchain community events.
• Understanding of decentralized and open-source ethos.
• International event production experience.
