Summer Programs Assistant Instructor - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and creative Summer Programs Assistant Instructor to join our team remotely. This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to lead and facilitate engaging, project-based learning experiences for students in various subjects, including art, design, and STEAM. As a Summer Programs Assistant Instructor, you will collaborate with the STEAM Programs Manager and lead instructor to design and continuously improve classes, ensuring a dynamic and enriching experience for participants.
What You'll Do
- Assist in classroom instruction, presenting on assigned topics and demonstrating necessary skills.
- Facilitate ice breakers and brain break activities to enhance student engagement.
- Support students during work time, helping them solve problems without giving direct answers.
- Manage students during walking field trips and assist with drop-off and pick-up.
- Encourage a kind, collaborative, and creative classroom environment.
- Assist with classroom clean-up and rearranging when needed.
- Create lesson plans and document curriculum as required.
Requirements
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to read a classroom and adapt to students' needs.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting in front of a classroom.
- Willingness to learn about LEGO Mindstorms, block coding, and basic art and design programs.
