About the Role

We are excited to offer a Summer Intern position focused on community outreach for the JFK Redevelopment project. This Summer Intern role is a unique opportunity to engage with one of the most significant transportation and infrastructure projects in the nation, all while working remotely. As a Summer Intern, you will support community outreach and compliance efforts, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a major regional redevelopment program.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with community outreach and stakeholder compliance efforts related to the JFK Redevelopment project.
  • Review documentation and prepare summary reports to ensure compliance and effective communication.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and community events to promote engagement and transparency.
  • Support MWBE (Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises) compliance activities.
  • Contribute to community relations and capacity-building initiatives that align with education and workforce development.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools for analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • Gain hands-on experience in community outreach and public service while working under the Aviation Department.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to develop programs that foster community engagement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at a college or university, preferably in majors such as Aviation Management, Public Administration, or related fields.
  • Strong can-do attitude and ability to conduct research and prepare reports.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Genuine interest in community outreach and public service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in community outreach or public service initiatives.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and practices.
  • Experience with event planning or coordination.
