About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our innovative healthtech company, working remotely across North America. In this role, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact how therapy is delivered through our tech-enabled care platform. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own and evolve the core systems behind our high-volume marketplace, ensuring scalability and reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Own and scale backend systems for scheduling, automations, payments, communications, and reporting.
  • Design and maintain internal admin and marketplace services and APIs.
  • Drive architectural decisions across services, data models, and integrations.
  • Identify, prioritize, and reduce tech debt while maintaining delivery velocity.
  • Ship, monitor, and support production systems end-to-end, ensuring high ownership and minimal handoffs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong production experience with Ruby on Rails and Elixir.
  • Experience with additional statically typed languages like Rust, Scala, or Go.
  • Deep backend expertise in APIs, background jobs, data modeling, system reliability, and scalability.
  • Proven ability to own complex systems from design through production.
  • Product-minded, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a high-impact environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthtech or similar industries.
  • Familiarity with cloud services like AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
