Shift Team Leader - Blending & Shipping (Full-Time)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Shift Team Leader to oversee the Blending & Shipping operations at Valero. This full-time position requires a strong leader who can ensure that the complex area under their direction operates in a safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and economically efficient manner. As a Shift Team Leader, you will work closely with the Operations Director, Complex Manager, and other departments to optimize unit operations while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

What You'll Do

• Supervise, train, and develop the shift team to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Conduct comprehensive shift handovers at the start and end of each shift, ensuring clear communication of essential information.
• Complete the STL Electronic Shift Communication Log and maintain thorough daily operation notes.
• Review the Daily Refinery Operating Programme and Daily Operating Instructions (DOIs) to ensure all directives are followed.
• Lead regular team safety meetings to reinforce safety practices and compliance with all safety procedures.
• Initiate EHSM items for variances and follow up on investigations to identify root causes.
• Perform audits according to the PCS12 Management System Audit schedule.
• Be a safety leader and enforce safety expectations for the shift team.

Requirements

• Preferably qualified to Control Operator level as a minimum.
• Previous experience as an Acting Shift Team Leader (ASTL) or other supervisory experience is desirable.
• Level 4 Eclipse qualified.
• Fully conversant in all areas of the Valero Safety Excellence Program (VSEP).
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and operational procedures is essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Operations Excellence System, Eclipse permit system, EHSM, Intelatrac, and XHQ Solution viewer.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
