About the Role

Join Monterey Technologies as a Senior UX Designer - Remote. In this pivotal role, you'll leverage user-centered design principles to enhance system performance and deliver impactful solutions. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the user experience for complex, critical systems.

What You'll Do

• Conduct user-centered research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
• Create user flows, wireframes, visual styles, and interaction designs that resonate with users.
• Evaluate existing systems and contribute to innovative new designs.
• Communicate design processes effectively to team members and stakeholders.
• Support team members in utilizing design tools and adhering to design standards.
• Manage complex tasks while collaborating with peers to achieve project goals.
• Gather user requirements and analyze interaction data to refine designs.
• Create design mockups, prototypes, and comprehensive documentation.
• Lead design reviews and foster a collaborative approach to design.
• Mentor junior researchers and advocate for user-centered design throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Must possess US DoD Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in a UX/HFE environment.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe CC, Figma, Axure, and Sketch.
• Strong commitment to understanding end-user needs.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Developing leadership and mentorship skills to guide junior team members.

Nice to Have

• Experience in working with government or defense-related projects.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
