About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Senior System Engineer for Next-Generation Space Projects to join our team at SSC Space. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that benefit Earth through space technology. As a Senior System Engineer, you will be involved in developing cutting-edge systems for ESA and EUMETSAT missions, contributing to the future of space exploration.

What You'll Do

  • Develop the Monitoring & Control System for next-generation ESA and EUMETSAT missions.
  • Design and implement sub-components of the system in compliance with the overall system architecture.
  • Create technical documentation of the implementation, ensuring proper in-code documentation, Wiki documentation, and UML models.
  • Support proactive evolution of the current technology stack throughout the initial development phase and subsequent maintenance phase.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and adherence to timelines.

Requirements

  • A university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Java, Apache Karaf (OSGi) Framework, OSGi methodology, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Nexus, Jenkins, GitLab, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with agile software development lifecycles and the Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • Experience in Linux environments and supplementary scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Fluency in English is required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in web-frontend development based on the React framework.
  • Experience with Apache Service Mix platform and Apache Kafka.
  • EU nationality is required due to security regulations.
