Senior Staff Accountant - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join OneSpan's dynamic team. This Senior Staff Accountant remote position will allow you to contribute to our mission of providing exceptional digital identity and anti-fraud solutions. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance while working collaboratively with a global team.

What You'll Do

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements.
• Resolve accounting discrepancies and investigate irregularities.
• Review and approve supplier invoices and expense reports for proper accounting coding.
• Prepare financial variance analysis reports and ensure accurate reporting for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Interact with external auditors during statutory audits.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and monthly VAT declarations.
• Participate in continuous process improvement projects to enhance accounting efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (Belgium and US GAAP preferred).
• Experience with VAT filings and fixed asset accounting.
• Bilingual Dutch-English or bilingual French-Dutch with a strong command of English.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work effectively in a global context and under time pressure.
• Strong work ethic, positive mindset, and team-oriented attitude.
