About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Mission Systems. This position is crucial for developing mission-critical systems that enhance national security. As a Senior Software Systems Engineer, you will leverage your expertise to provide architectural recommendations and design inputs to a cross-functional team. This role is not fully remote; however, we offer a hybrid work schedule that allows flexibility.

What You'll Do

• Lead customer requirements analysis and develop system requirements for complex software systems.
• Perform functional analysis, system design, and integration testing.
• Support the generation of technical engineering products throughout the system development life cycle.
• Participate in all phases of software system development, providing technical strategy and leadership.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of job-related experience, with a strong software background.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DOD programs.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance.
• Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and cloud environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with PaaS technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Familiarity with cyber security practices and multi-level security domains.
• Experience in the space domain.
