Senior Software Engineer - Generative AI (Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Generative AI to join our team at Energy Exemplar. In this remote position, you will play a crucial role in architecting and scaling AI-powered product capabilities across our simulation and planning platforms. As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Generative AI, you will not only deliver features but also design reusable Agentic AI platforms that empower multiple product teams to build AI agents aligned with energy-market domain requirements.
What You'll Do
- Architect, design, and implement end-to-end Generative AI systems, including advanced RAG and Agentic AI workflows.
- Design and build Agentic AI platforms that support the creation, orchestration, monitoring, evaluation, and governance of AI agents across various use cases and teams.
- Define domain-aware RAG architectures that enable AI agents to reason over energy market rules, model inputs, constraints, and simulation outputs.
- Lead the development of production-grade AI services using Python and/or .Net/Java, ensuring high reliability and performance for enterprise customers.
- Design AI data pipelines leveraging Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, and Azure Storage.
- Establish standards for prompt management, agent memory, tool invocation, evaluation metrics, observability, and cost control.
- Collaborate with product managers, energy domain experts, and cloud teams to align AI solutions with real customer workflows.
- Mentor and guide engineers on AI, backend, and full-stack design best practices.
Requirements
- 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience with strong expertise in Python and/or .Net/Java.
- Proven experience delivering production Generative AI solutions, including RAG implementations, at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to design and build Agentic AI agents and platforms.
- Deep understanding of LLMs, agent orchestration patterns, vector search, prompt optimization, memory strategies, and evaluation frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture (preferably Azure), containers, and orchestration platforms.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to balance innovation with engineering rigor and long-term maintainability.
