Senior Software Engineer - APIs & Support Systems

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer - APIs & Support Systems to join our EXP Squad at emnify. In this remote Senior Software Engineer role, you will be instrumental in building customer-facing APIs and backend systems that empower enterprise customers to manage and automate their IoT connectivity. Your work will directly impact adoption, scalability, and reliability of our solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver scalable, customer-facing backend capabilities from architecture to production.
• Drive API and system design decisions with a focus on long-term scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to translate complex requirements into clean technical solutions.
• Improve reliability, observability, testing practices, and architectural standards within your domain.
• Contribute to mentoring, hiring, and raising the engineering bar within the team.

Requirements

• Strong experience building scalable backend systems with TypeScript and Node.js, ideally using NestJS.
• Proven track record designing and evolving REST APIs in production environments.
• Solid experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling and performance optimization in SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Demonstrated ability to own features end to end and make sound architectural trade-offs.

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Knowledge of GraphQL.
