Backend Software Engineer - Deliverability for B2B SaaS

Join Front as a Backend Software Engineer (Remote) focused on Deliverability, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing our customer operations platform. Front is designed for B2B complexity, ensuring that every team, tool, and customer conversation is seamlessly integrated. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the core systems that power Front, processing tens of millions of events to deliver emails, SMS, and other messages quickly and reliably.

What You'll Do

• Serve as a technical lead on the Deliverability team, driving the architecture and execution of major infrastructure and product projects.
• Own and improve high-volume email infrastructure and decisioning systems, ensuring optimal deliverability outcomes at scale.
• Lead architectural evolutions to build reliable and scalable services that power Front.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to conceptualize, build, and test new product features.
• Take ownership of critical infrastructure that our customers depend on, ensuring system reliability and performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in backend development.
• Strong experience with high-scale, distributed backend systems.
• Proven ability to make architectural decisions that have real production impact.
• Experience with dynamic languages such as JavaScript (TypeScript), Python, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with asynchronous work queues and high-volume storage systems.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-growth environment.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in a B2B SaaS or customer communications company.
• Familiarity with email sending at high volumes and DNS infrastructure.
• Experience with AWS and deep knowledge of the email stack.
• Experience with anti-spam infrastructure and email delivery services like SendGrid or MailGun.
