About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Manager - Engagement Growth to join our dynamic team at Twitch, the world’s largest live streaming platform. As a Senior Software Development Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to enhancing viewer engagement through innovative software solutions. This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States, including major cities like New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

What You'll Do

• Lead one of three engineering teams focused on building engaging experiences for Twitch viewers.
• Design and implement consumer-scale services that power Video on Demand (VODs), Clips, and Stories for millions of users.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to create systems that enhance user interaction.
• Drive the professional growth of team members through mentorship and structured development planning.
• Develop a long-term roadmap and set strategic direction for a team of 10 engineers.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a software engineering manager.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering roles.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Golang, Python, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience designing and architecting scalable systems.
• Proven ability to identify user needs and deliver customer-centric solutions.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Background in hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineering teams.
• Deep knowledge of Golang and familiarity with Twitch as a viewer or creator.
