Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) remote to join our dynamic team at Element Technologies. This role is fully remote and open to candidates from Latin America, allowing you to work comfortably from your home while collaborating with a talented team across various time zones. As a Senior SDET, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing and automation.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and development teams to understand business requirements and communicate potential risks.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans and scripts that accurately assess application quality.
• Analyze test results to identify defects, adhering to best practices defined by the team.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation tests and framework libraries using Java, Groovy, and Kotlin.
• Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to object-oriented design best practices.
• Coach junior team members and set standards for test environment and data management.
• Communicate test progress, results, and quality of application changes effectively.
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing with tools like Jenkins and Azure.

Requirements

• 5+ years of direct experience as an SDET for major application integration or product release.
• Proficiency in Java, XML, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
• Experience in testing APIs/services (REST and SOAP) using tools like SoapUI or Postman.
• Strong knowledge of software testing best practices and methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on experience with continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and Subversion.
• Ability to troubleshoot defects using tools like Splunk.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum development processes.
• Experience writing JUnit or TestNG tests.
