Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Cloud FinOps Remote

About the Role

Hopper is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Cloud FinOps team. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a large infrastructure in Google Cloud, utilized by hundreds of engineers to deliver a top-notch experience to millions of users globally. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving cost efficiency and optimizing our cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Do

• Work on projects aimed at reducing network egress costs and optimizing storage for warehouse data.
• Improve cost attribution visibility for teams and support incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
• Contribute to solving infrastructure challenges within a small and efficient SRE team.
• Utilize your strong background in SRE, DevOps, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering to enhance our infrastructure.
• Implement troubleshooting skills and system design capabilities to ensure high availability and performance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of major cloud providers, preferably Google Cloud.
• Experience with SQL and familiarity with Containers, Kubernetes, Kustomize, and Helm.
• Understanding of Service Mesh technologies, preferably Istio.
• Networking knowledge including DNS, TLS, and certificates.
• Competence in observability tools, preferably Datadog.
• Security knowledge including IAM and RBAC.
• Proficiency in scripting with Bash and Python or other programming languages.

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and database technologies.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
