About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our expanding security engineering team at a major healthcare organization in the greater Burlington, Washington area. This Senior Security Engineer remote position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact across critical clinical and enterprise systems while working in a highly collaborative environment.

What You'll Do

  • Establish, document, and maintain security standards across systems and networks.
  • Configure and manage core security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, web and mail filtering, and endpoint protection.
  • Lead or support incident response activities from preparation through execution and follow-up.
  • Monitor network performance, investigate anomalies, and drive timely remediation.
  • Own, track, and resolve security-related requests and issues with clear communication to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for network implementation, system usage, and disaster recovery.
  • Provide occasional backup support to systems or network engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a Security Engineer with hands-on control over security tooling and infrastructure.
  • 2+ years of systems or network administration experience.
  • 1+ year supervising or mentoring technical staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Direct experience working in healthcare security, compliance, or regulated environments.

Nice to Have

  • CISSP or similar industry certification.
