Senior SAP Data Services Developer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented SAP Data Services Developer remote to join our GMDIT team. This role is crucial in designing, developing, and executing data migration activities that extract, transform, and load data from various sources into MDG and S/4 HANA systems using SAP Data Services as part of our enterprise-wide transformation programs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data integration, data quality, consistency, and compliance, and will be comfortable working in complex enterprise data environments.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL jobs and workflows using SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Build and optimize data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from multiple source systems ensuring data quality, accuracy, and performance across data pipelines.
• Perform data profiling, cleansing, standardization, validation, and enrichment using SAP BODS Data Quality transforms to ensure high data accuracy and consistency.
• Lead and participate in end-to-end data migration projects, including mock loads, defect resolution, and cutover activities, from legacy systems into SAP MDG and S/4HANA environments.
• Ensure seamless integration of MDG with SAP S/4HANA and other source/target systems, including the use of Data Replication Framework (DRF) and Data Import Framework (DIF) solutions.
• Work closely with business analysts, data architects, data stewards, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define technical specifications, and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for all ETL processes, data flows, and configurations while conducting thorough unit and integration testing.
• Monitor job executions, troubleshoot data-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support during data loads and hyper-care phases.
• Remain current with all relevant technologies and best practices, contributing new ideas to the team where needed.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects Data Services (BODS) as a technical developer, with 5-7+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing concepts, and data integration best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL scripting and experience with various database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA).
• Familiarity with SAP master data objects (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Material) and an understanding of SAP ECC/S/4HANA data structures.
• Hands-on experience or a strong understanding of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) configuration, data modeling, and workflow processes (e.g., using BRF+).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, experience with creating presentations for complex SAP design topics.
• Knowledge of the SAP environment (S/4HANA preferred) and its various modules, data dictionary, and database management principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities with both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with Manufacturing, Medical Devices, Life Sciences industry is a strong positive.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Math, or Engineering.
• Experience working in an international multi-cultural environment, including familiarity with Agile development methodologies considered a plus.
