About the Role

Join us as a Senior Rendezvous and Docking GNC Engineer at The Exploration Company, where you will play a pivotal role in the development of Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in the aerospace sector, focusing on spacecraft proximity operations, rendezvous, and docking.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the design of the AOCS/GNC for rendezvous and docking.
  • Implement GNC code into the Flight Software.
  • Validate and verify GNC software through algorithm unit testing and Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Own and advance complex work packages in the rendezvous and docking GNC development.
  • Perform multi-disciplinary spacecraft systems trades to enhance spacecraft performance and reliability.
  • Develop high-fidelity 6 degrees-of-freedom models and run simulations to analyze system performance.
  • Engage in design, optimization, and dispersion analysis.
  • Contribute to AOCS/GNC hardware specification and simulation.

Requirements

  • MSc. in Aerospace or related engineering discipline; higher degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of GNC engineering experience, particularly in proximity operations and docking.
  • Strong understanding of classical dynamics, orbital mechanics, and control techniques.
  • Experience with flight physics simulation.
  • Proficiency in software development using C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of German or French is a plus.
