About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to join AREA 17, a leading digital agency, to help us coordinate our Global Care program. This Senior Technical Product Manager remote position will allow you to work with an impressive portfolio of clients from our studios in New York and Paris. You will bridge the gap between technical maintenance and client strategy, ensuring our client sites operate smoothly and continuously improve.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the technical product backlog by assessing incoming incident tickets, investigating code, logs, and database issues before assigning them to the technical team.
  • Orchestrate sprints by translating maintenance needs and bug reports into actionable technical tasks, managing weekly sprints across the portfolio.
  • Provide architectural advice by collaborating with engineers to evaluate the feasibility of requested updates and guide decisions on technical debt, security patches, and platform updates.
  • Conduct proactive monitoring by regularly auditing monitoring tools (Uptime, Performance, security scans) to identify trends, prevent outages, and propose performance optimizations.
  • Lead global client onboarding by overseeing the transition of new projects into the Care program, ensuring the scope, processes, and expectations are clear from day one.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for clients in North America and Europe, clearly communicating technical issues.
  • Direct communication strategy during critical outages, providing real-time updates and writing incident reports explaining root causes and corrective actions.
  • Work with clients and our partner teams to anticipate technical needs (security compliance, replatforming, end-of-life for third-party solutions) to ensure their platforms evolve with their business.
  • Maintain automated dashboards and monthly performance reports demonstrating the ROI of the Care program.
  • Facilitate agile delivery rituals (stand-ups, grooming, retrospectives, asynchronous communication) optimized for a high-volume maintenance environment across multiple time zones.
  • Ensure a smooth handover between the internal project team and the Care team, from initial tool configuration to maintaining documentation in Jira and Confluence.
  • Monitor program margins and team capacity to ensure balance and focus efforts on priority risks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related technical field.
  • Comfortable reading code (both back-end and front-end), querying databases, and understanding cloud infrastructures.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager, ideally in a digital agency or consulting environment, managing multiple client accounts and significant workflows.
  • Demonstrated expertise in incident management, triaging technical issues, and managing complex situations with a focus on root cause analysis, stability, and performance.
  • Excellent command of English (required) and the ability to translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders (internal and clients) across different time zones (NYC/Paris). Proficiency in French is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and modern monitoring tools (e.g., OhDear/Grafana, Sentry/Glitchtip, Google Analytics).
