About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quality Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Aegon. This remote position is ideal for a hands-on technical contributor who is passionate about designing, implementing, and executing high-quality testing and automation solutions across our technology ecosystem. As a Senior Quality Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring software reliability, scalability, and continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions aligned with established quality standards and best practices.
- Execute functional, regression, API, and integration testing for complex applications and microservices.
- Contribute to test strategy and test plan development for assigned products or platforms.
- Develop and maintain automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions to ensure testability and quality.
- Identify, document, and track defects, performing root-cause analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to ensure reliable test execution in cloud and containerized environments.
- Support performance, reliability, and security testing efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience working with modern distributed applications, databases, and microservices.
- 3 years of hands-on experience in software quality engineering, including automated and manual testing.
- Proficiency in .NET/C# and/or Java with Spring Framework.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Postman.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience testing applications deployed in AWS and/or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of UI & web technologies including Angular, React, or Vue.js.
Nice to Have
- Cloud certifications such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development and testing practices.
