Senior Project Manager - SCS (Remote Option Available)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager - SCS to join our team at HS2 Ltd. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team in managing contracts on behalf of the Project Client. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of projects while fostering a collaborative environment. This position is primarily based in North Acton, London, with a requirement to be on-site at least 4-5 days per week. However, we are open to discussing remote work options for the right candidate.

What You'll Do

• Lead and manage the contract on behalf of the Project Client, ensuring compliance with NEC3 Project Manager duties.
• Support a team of Project Managers in effectively managing construction contracts within an Integrated Project Team.
• Establish and monitor consistent contract management practices, identifying and resolving emergent issues.
• Review and accept program schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Proactively manage risks within the Integrated Project Team scope, supporting the mitigation of HS2 program-level risks.
• Ensure compliance with Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
• Foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing among teams and stakeholders.
• Promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all aspects of work.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project management, with a strong understanding of project lifecycles and contract management.
• Advanced skills aligned with APM Project Manager standards.
• Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple workstreams effectively.
• Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to synthesize information and apply sound judgment.
• Experience in leading and managing teams across various functions and disciplines.
• Degree-level qualification in project management, engineering, commercial management, or equivalent experience.
• Commitment to promoting EDI principles within the workplace.

Nice to Have

• Experience with complex technical integration projects.
• Knowledge of risk identification and management processes.
• Understanding of project schedule management and dependencies.
