Senior Product Designer - AI & Automation Focus

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer remote to join our innovative team at n8n, the leading open workflow orchestration platform. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of AI-powered automation and design complex workflows that elevate user experiences. As a Senior Product Designer remote, you will work closely with PMs and engineers to deliver high-quality, visually cohesive designs that enhance our platform.

What You'll Do

• Lead the full design process from discovery to polished delivery, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of your design decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to consistently ship high-quality designs that improve the overall user experience.
• Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and research to inform product decisions and advocate for the user.
• Drive complex, multi-faceted problems to completion with initiative and autonomy.
• Design in systems, integrating solutions into the broader n8n platform while maintaining coherence and quality across shared patterns.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on complex products.
• Proficiency in UX, UI, and qualitative research, delivering polished, detail-oriented designs.
• Technical mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and understand software development processes.
• Experience in designing for AI tools or automation products is a plus.
• Strong execution skills in an MVP-driven environment, balancing quality and speed amid ambiguity.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript frameworks for prototyping.
• Experience with data-informed design methodologies, including A/B testing and SQL.
• Entrepreneurial drive with a history of building startups or side projects.
