About the Role

We're hiring a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will work closely with the Product Group leadership to guide strategic decisions on third-party engineering solutions. Your expertise will support our platform-first strategy and provide valuable insights on whether to buy or build solutions. What You'll Do

  • Lead the evaluation of third-party supplier solutions, leveraging your deep technical expertise.
  • Support the implementation of new software and tools, ensuring alignment with our engineering guidance.
  • Act as a senior engineering point of contact for strategic third-party contracts.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure quality and performance in supplier partnerships.
  • Contribute to governance processes with suppliers to enhance visibility of performance, risks, and value delivered.
  • Advise engineering leaders on optimal third-party sourcing strategies using market insights.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software engineering, with a strong understanding of the SDLC.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and partnerships.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on long-term outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience in engineering management or technical program management.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud-native solutions.
  • Familiarity with embedding off-the-shelf software or SaaS products within organizations.
  • Operational management experience from on-call roles or service management teams.
