Senior Portfolio Manager - Residential Energy Efficiency
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Portfolio Manager - Residential Energy Efficiency to join our team at Utility Energy Services (UES). This Senior Portfolio Manager role is pivotal in leading our residential energy efficiency initiatives across Georgia. You will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive portfolio that includes low-income weatherization, market-rate retrofits, and midstream/retail initiatives. This position is not just about operations; it is a strategic business leadership role where you will own the P&L, strategy, and operational execution.
What You'll Do
- Portfolio Strategy & Financial Ownership: Maintain full ownership of the portfolio’s financial health, managing multi-million dollar budgets, forecasting revenue, and ensuring gross margin targets are met.
- Strategic Planning: Design and execute the annual implementation plan to meet ambitious energy savings targets and customer participation goals across Metro Atlanta and regional Georgia markets.
- Business Growth: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand scope, pilot new initiatives, and drive innovation within the existing contract.
- Network Scale: Architect the strategy to expand the statewide trade ally network focusing on plumbing, insulation, and home performance professionals.
- Quality & Compliance: Oversee the integrity of the BPI certification standards and contractor scorecarding to ensure a high-performing, compliant delivery network.
- Performance Optimization: Direct process improvements and the implementation of QA/QC efforts to oversee service delivery quality, meet requirements, and incorporate findings into continuous improvement efforts.
- Technology Integration: Champion the optimization of program management platforms (Salesforce, Pipedrive, VisionDSM) to streamline incentive processing and enhance the customer journey.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7+ direct reports (including program and field managers) and an overall team of 40+ across the portfolio, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of utility program management experience, with at least 3 years having P&L responsibilities.
- Deep understanding of residential energy efficiency, DSM (Demand Side Management) implementation, and the Georgia regulatory landscape.
- Proven track record of scaling contractor networks (50+ firms) and managing trade ally relations.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce) and data visualization tools; ability to interpret complex data sets to drive decision-making.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree (MBA or related field).
- PMP, Six Sigma, or CEM certification.
- BPI certification or deep familiarity with building science/home performance standards.
- Experience with IRA funding mechanisms and braiding federal/utility incentives.
