Senior Network Consultant - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Network Consultant to join our team at Entergy. This Senior Network Consultant remote position is crucial for ensuring the stability and integrity of our data network environment. You will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and operating the network environment across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Provide detailed network designs in support of business requests, including routing, switching, load balancer, DDI, Mesh Networking, and wireless technologies.
• Develop implementation plans for both simple and complex change requests.
• Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware and software.
• Perform analysis at various protocol layers to troubleshoot network issues.
• Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration and processes.
• Oversee and implement upgrades for existing network equipment and software.
• Conduct research on network products and standards to stay updated with industry developments.
• Interact with vendors and contractors to secure network products and services.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in IT consulting, with a focus on network technologies.
• 3+ years of solution design experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
• Strong understanding of routing and switching technologies, as well as network security technologies.
• Proficient in routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and IS-IS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in financial management of project deliverables.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Cisco Network Infrastructure and Network Appliances.
• Knowledge of cloud networking and automation/scripting tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or cloud certifications.
