Chief Accountant - Remote Position

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Chief Accountant to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Chief Accountant, you will oversee all accounting, tax, and statutory reporting activities for Sika Ukraine, ensuring compliance with Ukrainian legislation and Sika Group policies.

What You'll Do

• Maintain the company’s system of accounts, ensuring accurate recording of all transactions in line with Ukrainian legislation and Sika Group instructions.
• Provide tax planning and ensure compliance with all local tax legislation and corporate rules.
• Cooperate with and supervise external accountants, auditors, and tax consultants.
• Coordinate the work of internal accountants in the department.
• Prepare and submit all reports required by state bodies in a timely manner.
• Organize and manage local obligatory audits.
• Coordinate the preparation of local transfer pricing documentation.
• Post transactions to form COGS of imported goods and manage VAT invoices.
• Reconcile accounts with suppliers and customers.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in accountancy.
• Experience as a Chief Accountant or Deputy Chief Accountant, preferably in multinational companies.
• Deep knowledge of Ukrainian accounting standards.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Fluency in Ukrainian and English.
• Proficient in modern ERP/accounting systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and analysis of tax consequences.

Nice to Have
