About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Halon, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing our email security platform. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying sophisticated machine learning models to protect businesses from various email-based threats. This is a remote position that offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative and innovative environment.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement advanced machine learning models using state-of-the-art technologies, including LLMs and Transformers, to detect and mitigate security threats like phishing and malware.
- Develop robust services for automated threat triage and content anonymization, ensuring the retrieval of security intelligence from vast datasets.
- Build and manage end-to-end machine learning pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment of models for tasks such as threat forecasting and anomaly detection.
- Transform prototypes into production-ready applications that meet throughput and latency requirements.
- Champion the transition to a fully automated MLOps environment, implementing CI/CD pipelines and advanced logging to ensure stability in production.
- Create and maintain ETLs to process large volumes of data for reporting and model training, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists and security engineers to deploy and maintain core threat detection models in production.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent senior-level experience.
- Proven experience contributing to impactful machine learning projects, demonstrating results.
- Proficiency in Python, with the ability to write clean and maintainable code for data analysis and modeling.
- Hands-on experience in NLP, particularly with transformer-based models for text classification and generative AI.
- In-depth experience with deep neural network frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Expertise in MLOps, including tools like MLflow, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- A creative mindset and a passion for innovation in machine learning.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in the email security domain, particularly in spam and phishing detection.
- Familiarity with challenges in modeling for Business Email Compromise (BEC).
- Conceptual understanding of Graph Neural Networks and their applications.
- Experience working with large imbalanced datasets.
- Experience with Rust is a plus.
