Accounting Manager - Remote Opportunity at Zapier

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Zapier. This Accounting Manager remote position is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of equity accounting and ensure compliance with US GAAP. You will play a critical role in supporting our technical accounting needs and driving automation initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the equity accounting subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with US GAAP for all equity transactions.
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate data flow from source systems through financial reporting.
• Own month-end close responsibilities for fixed and intangible assets, ensuring timely reporting within a 5-business-day close.
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives, leveraging NetSuite and AI tools to enhance scalability.
• Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
• Research and document technical accounting matters, including new accounting pronouncements.
• Assist in the preparation and review of audit schedules and serve as a key contact for auditors.
• Monitor and strengthen internal controls, including implementing a controls matrix.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in audit.
• Deep experience in equity and stock-based compensation under US GAAP.
• Active CPA certification.
• Strong automation mindset with a focus on streamlining processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Analytical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Adaptable and resourceful in navigating ambiguity.

Nice to Have

• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with AI tools in accounting.
• Previous experience in a fast-growing tech company.
