Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer to lead the management and maintenance of our company’s IT infrastructure. This Senior IT Infrastructure & Systems Engineer remote position is essential to supporting our remote-first software development environment, with a strong emphasis on Hyper-V virtualization, Oracle database operations, Microsoft 365 services, Azure production support, and IT compliance.

What You'll Do

• Manage and maintain Dell Hyper-V servers hosted in the SwitchNAP data center.
• Clone, configure, and deploy virtual machines for development and testing environments.
• Monitor and optimize performance of virtual infrastructure and storage arrays.
• Set up and maintain development environments including Microsoft IIS web servers and Oracle databases.
• Perform day-to-day Oracle database management tasks including data imports, exports, backup, and recovery operations.
• Manage user accounts, licensing, and security settings in Microsoft 365.
• Provide basic administrative support for Azure Virtual Machines and related services.
• Configure and maintain Fortigate firewalls and VPN access for remote employees.
• Serve as the primary liaison and escalation point for the outsourced helpdesk provider.
• Collaborate with the CISO to collect and submit documentation for the company’s annual SOC 1 Type 2 audit.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and systems administration.
• Expert-level knowledge of Hyper-V virtualization and Federal ATO / Fedramp experience.
• Strong experience with Oracle database administration, IIS configuration, Microsoft 365, and Azure Virtual Machines.
• Proficiency with Fortigate firewalls and VPN configuration.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

• Experience overseeing or collaborating with outsourced IT support providers.
• Familiarity with IT audit processes and documentation.
