Senior Full Stack Software Engineer - Identity Solutions

About the Role

Join us as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Camunda, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping identity and access management solutions for some of the largest enterprises globally. In this fully remote position, you will design and build secure, reliable, and extensible IAM capabilities that integrate seamlessly with complex customer environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and deliver core IAM features for Camunda 8, including multi-provider SAML and OIDC support, SCIM-based user management, and plugin systems for external identity providers.
• Lead medium-to-large engineering initiatives, breaking down ambiguous problems, writing clear solution designs, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure predictable delivery.
• Integrate our platform with enterprise identity landscapes, focusing on security, compliance, and ease of operation.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers in a remote-first environment to clarify requirements and drive timely decisions.
• Improve reliability and developer experience by maintaining CI/build pipelines and contributing to incident management practices.
• Mentor peers, review designs and code, and share practical approaches to building distributed, secure systems.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer, ideally in a full-stack or backend-leaning role.
• Proven track record leading engineering projects from inception to delivery in a remote setting.
• Hands-on experience implementing identity and access management solutions.
• Excellent communication skills tailored for a remote-first environment.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a strong ownership mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with workflow automation or process orchestration software.
• Familiarity with Spring Security and modern Java tooling.
• Background in clustered/distributed applications.
