Medical Technologist (MT) - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Technologist (MT) to join our team at the Institute of Physiology II at Universitätsklinikum Münster. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in immunocell biology and experimental physiology. As a Medical Technologist (MT) in this remote position, you will contribute significantly to our research efforts while enjoying the flexibility of part-time work.

What You'll Do

• Independently maintain and expand mammalian cell cultures and perform primary isolation and processing of immune cell populations from mouse bone marrow, blood, spleen, and tissues.
• Prepare biological samples for molecular, imaging, and functional analyses.
• Conduct computer-assisted analysis and quantitative evaluation of microscopy data.
• Support experiments using mouse models, including tissue processing and experimental documentation.
• Apply standardized molecular biological and protein biochemical methods, including PCR and genotyping, protein analyses via Western blot, flow cytometry-based analyses, and protein purification procedures.

Requirements

• Completed training as a Medical Technologist (MT), Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), or a comparable qualification.
• Practical experience in cell culture and molecular biological techniques.
• Excellent English language skills, as communication within the team is primarily in English.
• Experience with animal research or the isolation of immune cells is advantageous.
• Structured, reliable, and independent working style with strong organizational skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in laboratory management or project coordination.
• Familiarity with advanced microscopy techniques.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis software.
