Senior Formula Scientist - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Formula Scientist to join our team at Curio Wellness. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development of innovative, science-driven products in the cannabis industry. You will play a crucial role in formulating best-in-class products that align with our mission to empower individuals through the benefits of cannabis.

What You'll Do

• Lead the formulation development process across various dosage forms, including ingestibles, topicals, and inhalation products.
• Optimize and scale formulations from benchtop to manufacturing, ensuring compliance with cGMP and state regulations.
• Establish and implement testing protocols to analyze stability, compatibility, and performance of formulations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure product efficacy and safety.
• Mentor and train junior staff, enhancing lab execution through best practices and documentation discipline.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in formulation development within regulated industries, preferably in cannabis or CBD.
• Strong knowledge of chemistry, processing techniques, and stability principles.
• Experience in a compliance-driven environment with robust documentation practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems using critical thinking.
• Proven track record of mentoring and training junior staff.

Nice to Have

• Experience with emulsions, solubilization, and flavor optimization.
• Familiarity with external labs and managing technical workstreams.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering or Food Science.
