Senior Enterprise Network Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Enterprise Network Engineer to join our team at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). This Senior Enterprise Network Engineer remote position is ideal for individuals with over 10 years of experience in advanced networking and telecommunications services. You will play a crucial role in enabling our staff to navigate the complexities of digital transformation by designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated networking solutions.

What You'll Do

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) to support enterprise operations.
• Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices as part of your responsibilities.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve network issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop comprehensive network design and implementation plans tailored to our needs.
• Provide technical support to clients and team members, ensuring seamless operations.
• Work on BGP, VXLANs, and spine and leaf networks to enhance network efficiency.
• Implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware from potential threats.
• Conduct research and cost-benefit analysis on proposed hardware and software to support infrastructure decisions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in networking, routing, and switching across enterprise networks.
• Proven work experience as a Network Architect/Engineer with expertise in multi-site software-defined networks.
• Hands-on experience with both Internet IPv4 and IPv6 routing and switching.
• Proficiency in BGP, VXLANs, and spine and leaf networks.
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of network operating systems, preferably Cisco IOS/NX-OS.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in providing support to various network systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; US Citizenship is legally required.

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
• Experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
• Professional certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, etc.
