Senior Distributed Systems Engineer - Membership Engineering

About the Role

Netflix is hiring a full-time Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to join our Membership Engineering team, working remotely from the USA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable distributed systems that enhance our membership services. As a key player in our engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that improve user experience and operational efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Architect and develop distributed systems that support Netflix's membership platform.
• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define system requirements and specifications.
• Implement robust and scalable solutions using modern technologies and frameworks.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring reliability and availability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve our systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Distributed Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems architecture and design principles.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Go, or Python.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of database systems and data modeling.
