About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Architect (remote) to design, implement, and maintain our database systems. This role focuses on DB2, SQL Server, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and other cloud databases. As a Senior Database Architect, you will work closely with our development and IT teams to ensure our databases are scalable, secure, and efficient.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement database solutions based on business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain data models, database schemas, and data dictionaries.
  • Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other techniques.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate databases with applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, providing timely resolutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior database administrators and developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Database Architect or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of DB2, SQL Server, Azure SQL, and other cloud database platforms.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, database design, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with cloud database solutions and services.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Certification in database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ETL processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Familiarity with database security measures, including encryption and access controls.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies for cloud databases.
