About the Role

InPost is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Data Scientist - Operations (Remote) to join our dynamic teams. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage advanced analytical techniques and machine learning models to extract actionable insights from our complex data sets, driving strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with our Product and Business Teams to understand their needs, translating them into data science solutions and providing actionable insights.
  • Develop and implement advanced data science solutions, including machine learning models, AI products, and optimization frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data-driven initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by exploring cutting-edge methods and keeping up with new trends in Data Science & AI.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to management, business teams, and other data community members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in a relevant field such as data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, econometrics, or physics.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with data science methods.
  • Strong technical and/or research background is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English and Polish; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of ML solutions and their impact on business, user experience, and operational processes.
  • Hands-on experience working with large amounts of data.
  • Proficiency in Python 3 and ML/data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, Numpy, Scipy, Scikit-learn, TF/Pytorch).
  • Experience with PySpark, relational databases, and cloud solutions (e.g., Databricks, Azure, GCP, AWS, Snowflake).

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in testing code and knowledge of best practices regarding code readability, technical reviews, and maintainability.
  • Experience with ML Ops and data pipelines frameworks, preferably Kedro.
  • Experience creating ML models used in production and knowledge of SRE principles.
  • Experience with CLI tools: bash/zsh.
  • Experience leveraging CI/CD pipelines in data-based products.
  • Experience applying data science methods at scale or building models used in production by a large number of users.
  • Previous work on open-source projects.
  • Experience in a data-driven environment, designing, executing, and analyzing many experiments.
