Senior Data Scientist - Full Stack for Blockchain Intelligence

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our team at TRM Labs, a leading blockchain intelligence company. In this remote role, you will be at the forefront of tackling some of the most pressing challenges in the world, including human trafficking, financial fraud, and terrorist financing. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will leverage your expertise to build algorithms that drive impactful customer outcomes, making a difference in the fight against illicit activities.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end attribution for a specific risk category, identifying high-impact targets and building algorithms that will be deployed in production.
• Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts to translate customer needs into actionable intelligence.
• Navigate various intelligence layers to uncover patterns that competitors cannot replicate.
• Ship production-quality code, including heuristics, machine learning models, and data pipelines, ensuring rigorous evaluation and scalable architecture.
• Drive measurable outcomes, contributing to the tracing and seizure of billions in illicit funds.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in an analytical role, with strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and AI-assisted coding tools.
• Demonstrated experience with distributed data systems such as Spark, BigQuery, and Airflow.
• Ability to communicate asynchronously using tools like Loom, Slack, and Notion.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
• Deep curiosity and knowledge in blockchain, fraud, money laundering, or cybercrime.

Nice to Have

• Experience in machine learning and prior work in the crypto or financial crime sectors.
